加州大学洛杉矶分校MS in Biostatistics招生信息已经公布,包含申请条件、入学要求、英语语言成绩要求、申请费用、申请所需材料等信息,帮助大家查找留学项目申请信息。Department of Biostatistics, Fielding School of Public Health
Applicants to the Master of Science program in Biostatistics must have completed a bachelor's degree. Majors in mathematics, computer science, or a field of application in biostatistics are preferred. Undergraduate preparation for the program should include Mathematics 31A, 31B, 32A, 32B, 33A, 33B (second-year calculus) or equivalent. See the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) Admission section under Public Health Schoolwide Programs. Admission requirements for the Master of Science in Biostatistics are the same as for the M.P.H. For the MS we require 2 years of calculus plus 1 quarter of linear algebra. More is always helpful. I recommend a full extra year of mathematics for people interested in a doctoral program. Occasionally we let people in who are otherwise qualified but are missing a math class or two. Usually you are required to make this up prior to admission, or occasionally during the first year. We also recommend some programming experience and some experience in Statistics or Biostatistics and some experience with a Statistics computer package. An ability to communicate in English is also necessary. Students whose native language is not English are strongly encouraged to begin immediately developing their English skills. Students whose English is poor will find it difficult to find employment while enrolled, and it will make it more difficult to find employment after graduating, choices will be more limited and starting salaries will be lower.

Regarding test scores, the averages vary somewhat from year to year. GRE scores of our doctoral students are almost always at least in the mid-700 range on the quantitative exam. Verbal scores are often not quite so high, but we place substantial value on them. We have less experience with the analytical writing scores, but scores of 4.0 or above are typical for those we admit. Report your GRE score to the UCLA, School of Public Health using GRE code 4225. If you have already taken the GRE and have reported your score only to UCLA using code 48337, you should contact ETS and ask them to report your score to the School of Public Health specifically using code 4225.. GRE test scores are valid for five years.
