Applicants must have taken either the TOEFL or IELTS examinations of English competency within the past two years. We generally seek results equal to or greater than 100 on the TOEFL (internet based test) or 7.0 on the IELTS; however, we accept scores of 90 or above on the TOEFL or 6.5 or higher on the IELTS where the applicant’s academic record and recommendations provide confidence that the student will thrive in our program. The TOEFL/IELTS requirement may be waived for prospective students who attend the University’s English Language Institute (ELI) and successfully complete Level 5 or 6 in the ELI's program with a score of 85% or higher and an appropriate recommendation from the ELI to CILE.
